WHAT:
Get your golden ticket! Rosarian Academy’s performance of Willy Wonka KIDS will certainly cheer up its audience. Based on the classic book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, Willy Wonka teaches poignant and uplifting life lessons through the character portrayals of five Golden Ticket winners—Augustina Gloop [adapted from Augustus], Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, Mike Teavee, and Charlie Bucket. Whether its eating too much of what we enjoy, wanting immediate satisfaction, playing too much on electronic devices, or doing or tasting something that we were told not to, the characters represent various faults that can be found in all of us.
This all-time favorite will be performed by Rosarian Academy Lower School students. Showcasing a cast of 46 first-through-fourth-grade students, Willy Wonka KIDS is your ticket to pure imagination and viewing paradise.
The musical is produced and directed by Robert Sherman, with musical direction by Gay Dedo, choreography by Jeanne Bennet, scenic and lighting design by Ardean Landuis, and costume design by Jeanne Bennett and alumnus William Linn (Class of 2001).
Rosarian Academy will perform Willy Wonka KIDS on Saturday, November 2 at 1:30 PM at 807 N. Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. Tickets are $6 for students and $12 for adults and can be purchased at ra.booktix.com.
A full dress rehearsal/play preview for Rosarian students will take place on Thursday, October 31 at 10:00am.
