Job Summary:
Rosarian Academy seeks a full-time Gifted and Talented Teacher for grades K-4 for the 2019-2020 school year. This employee is responsible for organizing, implementing, and supporting modified instructional strategies to meet the needs of exceptionally talented students in gifted and/or education classes.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  1. Planning:
    a. Designing or selecting appropriate instructional modifications for gifted students and coordinating these activities with other teachers as appropriate.
  2. Continuing professional growth through education meetings, visiting related facilities, reading professional literature, and exchanging ideas among the staff.
    c. Working in coordination with other teachers in planning and developing the program.
  3. Programming:
    a. Preparing, implementing, and evaluating an annual educational plan for each student based on individually assessed needs.
    b. Preparing lesson plans for each group of students.
    c. Providing appropriate schedules for exceptional students involving school personnel as required.
    d. Developing and monitoring the modified strategies for the students in coordination with the teachers as appropriate.
    e. Providing direct consultation to teachers on how to implement strategies.
    f. Team teaching with teachers to support gifted students when appropriate.
    g. Participating in the in-school staffing and screening process as appropriate.
    h. Participating on evaluation teams for gifted students as appropriate.
    i. Providing specialized instruction to individual and small groups of gifted students when necessary to support learning the content areas.
    j. Assisting in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
    k. Taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students,materials, equipment and facilities.
    l. Seeking a variety of services through community resources and agencies to meet the needs of gifted students.
  4. Public Relations:
    a.Conferring with education teachers as requested concerning any
    educational needs of students.
    b. Developing and conducting necessary inservice programs to inform education classroom teachers of the goals and objectives of the gifted program where appropriate.
    c. Providing information to community groups, parents, and news media concerning gifted programs as requested or needed and as approved by the immediate supervisor.
    d. Providing specialized instructional techniques through individual or group sessions designed to meet the educational needs of students.
    e. Conferring with other teachers concerning any educational needs of gifted students.
    f. Working to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
  5. Reporting:
    a. Ensuring that each student in the program has necessary evaluation and consultation records in his/her permanent folder.
    b. Completing progress reports on each student as needed.
    c. Completing report cards.
    d. Referring those students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel.
    e. Documenting ongoing consultation with teachers and maintaining a record of modified instructional strategies and results for each student where appropriate.
    f. Attending and participating in faculty meeting or other meetings as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Valid Florida gifted certification or endorsement, or will meet D.O.E. certification
requirements for out-of-field teachers.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Graduate hours beyond bachelor’s degree.
2. Classroom teaching experience.
3. Experience in a like position

Job Summary:

Rosarian Academy seeks a full-time Social Studies Teacher for grades 5-8 for the 2019-2020 school year. The teacher works to develop in each student an appreciation of American ideals and cultural heritage; to develop proficiency in the use of social studies inquiry skills and concepts; to motivate each pupil to understand and exercise his rights, privileges, and responsibilities as a citizen; to develop understanding of the geographical, historical, cultural, and political factors which influence the development of world regions; to encourage pupils to develop sound opinions based on study of facts concerning operation of political and economic systems.

 

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Teaches social studies and incorporates language skills, writing skills and critical learning
    procedures, utilizing the course of study provided.
  • Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter as specified in state laws,
    regulations and school policies.
  • Develops clear and appropriate lesson plans and identifies instructional materials on a
    weekly basis (minimum).
  • Selects, designs and organizes objectives, strategies and materials for teaching social
    studies, and incorporates research findings in the instructional program.
  • Provides individualized and small group instruction (as necessary) to adapt the curriculum to
    the needs of each pupil. He/she will have the ability to teach at various levels of instruction. Determines the appropriate pace for instruction related to students’ abilities and explains material and subject content to students and parents. Differentiates instruction for students based upon need and works with students and other teachers in inclusive settings.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of behavior in the classroom and throughout the school
    to achieve a positive and functional learning atmosphere for students.
  • Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, prepares
    student progress reports, and provides accurate and constructive feedback to students and
    parents. (as necessary).
  • Creates an effective learning environment.
  • Participates in the selection of books and other instructional materials.
  • Supervises students in and out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.
  • Administers group standardized tests in accordance with school regulations.
  • Participates in curriculum development programs.
  • Participates in faculty committees, meetings and other faculty sponsored programs supporting the educational program.
  • Maintains professional competence through school sponsored in-service programs and
    approved professional development activities.
  • Demonstrates regular and timely attendance.
  • Is able to speak and write in a clear, concise manner.
  • Is able to move throughout the building (all floors) and school grounds as necessary.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with other professional staff members and administrators in
    facilitating the delivery of the entire educational program to students, to include art, ESE,
    music, physical education, remedial and gifted programs.
  • Follows all school policies, and building procedures and submits required information and
    reports within identified timelines.
  • Perform as an advisor to a group of advisee’s for the purpose of advising them on academic, social, or future planning issues.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the administration.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in History or a related field of study. (Master’s Degree Preferred)
  2. Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in secondary school certification, or will meet D.O.E. certification requirements for out-of-field teachers.
  3. Three years of successful classroom teaching experience.

Job Summary:

Rosarian Academy seeks a 10 month school nurse for the Rosarian School Community (ages 1 to students in eighth grade) for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. Candidates must be flexible, reliable and pride themselves on excellence, putting development of students first, while promoting a positive learning environment. The school nurse must function independently under state guidelines and policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Keep accurate records required by Florida statutes, regulations and school board policy
  • Prepare a safe environment that is orderly, clean and aesthetically appealing
  • Promote mutual respect between students and nurse
  • Participate in staff development and training when requested
  • Keep administration informed of goals and developments with parents, staff, and students

  • The professional school nurse is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating school health services that

  • Plans and implements services to meet those health care needs.

  • Analyze and discuss effect of students’ health (physical and psycho-social) on educational progress by means of conferences with parents, school personnel, community resources
  • Serve as liaison between the education and health communities by providing health counseling and guidance to students, school personnel and parents, and by initiating the necessary follow-up visits with private or community resources
  • Assist in the planning of health education curriculum to meet the needs of all children, including the exceptional child, and to integrating of health concepts into the total curriculum
  • Assist with yearly hearing, vision and scoliosis screening, conducts lice screenings
  • Assist administrators in planning for the control of communicable disease, for first aid in acute illness or injury, and for safety and sanitation in the building
  • Teach positive health concepts and attitudes
    • Assist in other duties at the school as assigned by Administration when nurses station is slow
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Administration

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered nurse, currently licensed in Florida
  • A minimum of 3 years RN nursing experience dealing with young children and adolescents (ages 4 – 18)

Rosarian Academy seeks a full-time STEM Teacher with demonstrable classroom experience in math, technology or related area. He or she has the desire to grow in an innovative professional learning community, is enthusiastic about teaching and learning, and is current with best practices. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the academic and social-emotional needs of students in grades K-8 and demonstrate the ability to teach students who vary in ability and learning styles. Candidates must be willing to collaborate with faculty and families and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the school community. Strong classroom management skills, solid communication, enthusiasm and a growth mindset are a must.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Deliver STEM-oriented instruction through project-based learning methods.
  2. Attends professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.
  3. Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning.
  4. Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration.
  5. Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of STEM initiatives and curriculum.
  6. Organizes, develops, and coordinates special STEM events/activities.
  7. Coaches teachers on STEM initiatives and instructional best practices in the STEM areas.
  8. Serves as liaison to prospective or selected STEM vendors, to determine the best resources, options and innovations that will optimize the learning experience for students and staff.
  9. Initiates new programs that support the STEM vision.
  10. Shares STEM events and activities through social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  11. Promptly completes all forms, etc. required by the administration.
  12. Takes and sends attendance electronically by the specified time each academic day.
  13. Informs the school of an absence as soon as possible and provides appropriate substitute lesson plans.
  14. Follows assigned schedule.
  15. Maintains an up-to-date plan book and gradebook.
  16. Supports student extra-curricular activities.
  17. Fulfills all obligations as indicated in the Teacher Agreement, Employee Handbook, Parent/Student Handbook, and Board Policies.
  18. Carries out any additional tasks/jobs requested by the Administration

Additional Qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics and/or Science and/or STEM preferred or related field, Masters preferred.
  • Experience in delivering professional development to teachers.
  • Evidence of at least three (3) years of exemplary classroom teaching experience.
  • A proven track record in the use of a rich array of instructional methods, the analysis and use of data and technology to improve instruction, and the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively.
  • Evidence of productive experience with problem-based learning.
  • Proven ability to apply science and/or math content knowledge, formative assessment, and technology integration at a high level.

Rosarian Academy seeks a full-time Montessori Children’s House Classroom Assistant. The Montessori assistants at Rosarian Academy are guides who help direct his/her students’ activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach fullest potential in these developmental areas, in accordance with Montessori philosophy and procedures for the age group in which the assistant is placed. The assistant is also responsible for helping to maintain the operation of the classroom in accordance with the Department of Health guidelines and requirements. The Montessori assistant performs his/her services under the direction of the lead teacher and supervision of the Early Childhood Director.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the Lead Teacher in the development, implementation and assessment of a Montessori Learning Environment for 3 – 5 -year-olds
  • Working collaboratively and productively with Lead Teacher and other staff members
  • Actively participate in professional development, faculty meetings and events
  • Supervising children on the playground
  • Assisting in the bathroom as necessary
  • Assist with pick up and drop off as necessary
  • Maintaining order and cleanliness of the Learning Environment
  • Providing direct instruction and/or remedial help as directed by the Lead Teacher

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree preferred (but not required)
  • Experience in a Montessori Learning Environment preferred
