Responsibilities include planning activities and games for the after care participants. Hours are 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm M-F. Rosarian Academy seeks a full-time Facilities Assistant to join our maintenance team. Responsibilities include inspecting different equipment and performing any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. Candidates should have a positive, can-do attitude and professional demeanor; be a team player; have previous experience in maintenance; be highly skilled with various hand and power tools; and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals.

Duties of this position include:

    • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
    • Performing preventative maintenance.
    • Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
    • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
    • Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
    • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Related degree from a technical college.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision-measuring instruments or electronic-testing devices.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.

  • Rosarian Academy seeks a full-time Middle School Mathematics Teacher for grades 7 – 8 for the 2020-2021 school year. The teacher will teach a variety of courses in the fields of their strength but could include Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry.

    Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

    • Plan lessons, present information, promote discussion, assess performance and modify learning techniques in the study the sciences for students in middle school.
    • Instruct students in classroom settings as well as small groups to expand knowledge of the subject
    • Strong classroom management skills, solid communication, enthusiasm and a growth mindset are a must.
    • Provide a safe and stable learning environment 
    • Encourage active participation and monitor individual student performance to enhance their understanding and master skills
    • Attend departmental and school-wide faculty meetings on a regular basis in addition to continuing education
    • Communicate with students and parents through conferences, telephone calls, and email about student performance, goal setting, behavior problems, and other issues
    • Conduct safety drills when necessary throughout the school year for overall student security outside of instruction
    • Perform as an advisor to a group of advisee’s for the purpose of advising them on academic, social, or future planning issues.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field of study. (Master’s Degree Preferred)
    2. Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in secondary school certification, or will meet D.O.E.  certification requirements for out-of-field teachers.
    3. Three years of successful classroom teaching experience.

The Montessori teachers at Rosarian Academy are guides who help direct his/her students’ activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach the fullest potential in these developmental areas, in accordance with Montessori philosophy and procedures for the age group in which the Montessori Certification is held. The teacher is also responsible for maintaining the operation of the classroom in accordance with the Department of Health guidelines and requirements. The Montessori teacher performs his/her services under the direction and supervision of the Early Childhood Director.

Qualifications: Lead teachers have  Montessori certifications from a Montessori Accreditation Committee for Teacher Education (MACTE) approved program (AMS, AMI, NCME, NAMTA, etc.) for the level in which they teach and a four-year college degree. Must have completed the 45-Hour Child Care Training Course as required by DCF or be willing to complete it upon hiring. Good interpersonal skills are necessary. The teacher should have the ability to work not only with children but with parents and other staff members as well. A positive and open attitude toward all children is a requirement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Embody the mission and vision of Rosarian Academy
  • Responsible for preparation of the classroom environment, materials and equipment; ensures that all materials are in good repair and all sets complete. Develops and makes materials when needed.
  • Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum. Give appropriate presentations and establish a recordkeeping system to track the children’s progress.
  • Supervise the classroom assistant, aide, interns, substitutes, and parent volunteers. Provide necessary instruction and training for those assisting in the classroom environment.
  • Promote good communication among staff members.
  • Facilitate a respectful environment for children and adults by advocating conflict resolution through Conscious Discipline and Grace and Courtesy lessons.
  • Stay within the classroom budget every year.
  • Ensure respectful and open lines of communication with parents. Be available to parents through written communication, setting up conferences, and educating parents in Montessori philosophy.
  • Plan and host Parent Education events.
  • Supervises children on the playground.
  • Fills out accident reports as needed.
  • Participates in monthly fire drills and code drills.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the classroom inside and out.
  • Assist with drop off and pick up in the morning and afternoon.
  • Assist in the planning and maintenance of the outdoor environment.
  • Assess prospective children when they visit the school.
  • Provide first aid as needed and complete appropriate forms for parents.
  • Comply with all continuing education requirements.
  • Be at the school at 7:30 AM until 3:30 PM. Reserving Wednesday afternoons for faculty meetings.
  • Fulfill other related duties as assigned by Administration.
  • Be willing to work with students in an adaptive environment if needed.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    1. Deliver STEM-oriented instruction through project-based learning methods. 
    2. Attends professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research. 
    3. Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning.
    4. Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration. 
    5. Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of STEM initiatives and curriculum. 
    6. Organizes, develops, and coordinates special STEM events/activities. 
    7. Coaches teachers on STEM initiatives and instructional best practices in the STEM areas. 
    8. Serves as liaison to prospective or selected STEM vendors, to determine the best resources, options and innovations that will optimize the learning experience for students and staff. 
    9. Initiates new programs that support the STEM vision. 
    10. Shares STEM events and activities through social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. 
    11. Promptly completes all forms, etc. required by the administration.
    12. Takes and sends attendance electronically by the specified time each academic day.
    13. Informs the school of an absence as soon as possible and provides appropriate substitute lesson plans.
    14. Follows assigned schedule.
    15. Maintains an up-to-date plan book and gradebook.
    16. Supports student extra-curricular activities.
    17. Fulfills all obligations as indicated in the Teacher Agreement, Employee Handbook, Parent/Student Handbook, and Board Policies.
    18. Carries out any additional tasks/jobs requested by the Administration

     

    Additional Qualifications include:

    • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics and/or Science and/or STEM preferred or related field, Masters preferred.
    • Experience in delivering professional development to teachers. 
    • Evidence of at least three (3) years of exemplary classroom teaching experience.
    • A proven track record in the use of a rich array of instructional methods, the analysis and use of data and technology to improve instruction, and the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively. 
    • Evidence of productive experience with problem-based learning. 
    • Proven ability to apply science and/or math content knowledge, formative assessment, and technology integration at a high level.
