Director of Facilities – Rosarian Academy

General Description

Rosarian Academy, located in West Palm Beach, FL seeks to hire a qualified and experienced full time Director of Facilities. Under the direction of the Head of School, the Director will assign and manage the work of custodians, grounds, and maintenance personnel, as well as train and evaluate facilities personnel. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, assign and manage maintenance and operations; assure school buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment are operational and health, safety and security policies and guidelines are met.
  • Inspect school buildings and grounds to assure that proper safety, cleaning, and sanitation standards are maintained; assume responsibility for school alarm systems.
  • Arrange for necessary repair work by vendors and maintenance personnel; contact vendors by telephone/email as necessary; inspect and review work performed to assure standards are met.
  • Plan, assign and manage the work of grounds keeping personnel engaged in maintenance and care of trees, shrubs, lawns and athletic fields.
  • Operate a computerized energy management system.
  • Confer with school administrators in planning maintenance and cleaning of school campus.
  • Order custodial supplies and materials needed to maintain school.
  • Assist in selection of custodial, grounds and maintenance personnel; train and evaluate personnel; conduct meetings with assigned personnel to provide technical work direction and general information.
  • Maintain records concerning personnel, work requests supplies and other matters; prepare reports as required; maintain time sheets; process necessary payroll forms.
  • Plan and implement a preventive maintenance program for school buildings and grounds.
  • Develop and oversee the custodial/maintenance site budget.
  • Coordinate use of school facilities with staff and community groups; communicate with users about specific needs.
  • Assure that all safety requirements are followed by crew(s).
  • Respond to emergency call-backs during off-duty hours.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:

Licenses and Other Requirements:

  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Fingerprint clearance from the FDLE Level 2 Federal.

Position title: Bookkeeper

Rosarian Academy is seeking a highly motivated and organized candidate for the Bookkeeper position. The Bookkeeper provides support to the Administrative Team, including the Head of School, Director of Finance, and other departments. Generally, the Bookkeeper is responsible for recording and maintaining financial records and general office administrative duties. Primary responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, bank deposits, account reconciliation, other required reporting and performing a variety of clerical duties under the general direction of the Director of Finance. The ideal individual will have strong analytical and mathematical skills, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

Maintaining records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recordation of journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Applying strong accounting skills, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing backup, journal entries, and all bookkeeping. Participating in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.

  • Accounts Payable:
  • Monitoring purchase orders and invoices
  • Coding invoices with the proper general ledger information and obtaining approval for payment
  • Maintaining vendor certificates of insurance and W9 forms
  • Checking invoices and ensuring bills are paid in a timely manner

Position Purpose: To provide an educational setting for the teaching of Fifth grade Language Arts and Literature while offering a superior education academically, spiritually, and socially in a structured, positive environment in the tradition of Catholic education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strong teaching skills for school curriculum and student developmental needs.
  • Follow school mission, procedures, and policies in administrative and educational matters as set forth by the Head of School and the Board of Directors.
  • Lead students in prayer and nurture them to develop a Christian based character.

Montessori Lead Teacher

The Montessori teachers at Rosarian Academy are guides who help direct his/her students’ activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach fullest potential in these developmental areas, in accordance with Montessori philosophy and procedures for the age group in which the Montessori Certification is held. The teacher is also responsible for maintaining the operation of the classroom in accordance with the Department of Health guidelines and requirements. The Montessori teacher performs his/her services under the direction and supervision of the Early Childhood Director/Administration.

Qualifications: Lead teachers have Montessori certifications from a Montessori Accreditation Committee for Teacher Education (MACTE) approved program (AMS, AMI, NCME, NAMTA etc.) for the level in which they teach and a four year college degree. Must have completed 45-Hour Child Care Training Course as required by DCF or be willing to complete upon hiring. Good interpersonal skills are necessary. The teacher should have the ability to work not only with children but with parents and other staff members as well. A positive and open attitude toward all children is a requirement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Embody the mission and vision of Rosarian Academy
  • Responsible for preparation of the classroom environment, materials and equipment; ensures that all materials are in good repair and all sets complete. Develops and makes materials when needed.
  • Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum. Give appropriate presentations and establish a recordkeeping system to track the children’s progress.
  • Supervise the classroom assistant, aide, interns, substitutes, and parent volunteers. Provide necessary instruction and training for those assisting in the classroom environment.
  • Promote good communication among staff members.
  • Facilitate a respectful environment for children and adults by advocating conflict resolution through Conscious Discipline and Grace and Courtesy lessons.
  • Stay within classroom budget every year.

Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Assistants

The Montessori assistants at Rosarian Academy are guides who help direct his/her students’ activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach fullest potential in these developmental areas, in accordance with Montessori philosophy and procedures for the age group in which the assistant is placed. The assistant is also responsible for helping to maintain the operation of the classroom in accordance with the Department of Health guidelines and requirements. The Montessori assistant performs his/her services under the direction of the lead teacher and supervision of the Early Childhood Director / Administration for the duration of the ten month school year. Additional summer opportunities are available for those wishing to work twelve months.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the Lead Teacher in the development, implementation and assessment of a Montessori Learning Environment for pre-school students.
  • Working collaboratively and productively with Lead Teacher and other staff members
  • Actively participate in professional development, faculty meetings and events

Full Time Classroom Assistants- Lower School

The classroom assistants at Rosarian Academy are guides who help direct his/her students’ activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared environment that challenges each child to reach his/her fullest potential in these developmental areas, in accordance with the philosophy and procedures for the age group in which the assistant is placed. The Early Childhood Learning Coordinator is a Montessori-certified employee who is responsible and accountable for implementing all aspects of the school’s Early Childhood Montessori curriculum, while maintaining compliance with all regulations of the Florida Department of Health and Florida Department of Education. Candidates are required to hold a director’s credential from a nationally recognized Montessori organization, as well as any other necessary director credentials, in order to ensure that all early childhood classrooms are meeting the needs of the young learners.

 

Position Purpose

  • Keep staff files current
  • Work with school nurse to maintain student files
  • Understand and implement the Rules and Regulations of Palm Beach County (Florida Department of Health)
  • Keep up to date with DCF requirements
  • Keep records of monthly fire/safety drills
    • Monitor Daily attendance in Brightwheel app
    • File/monitor playground checklists
    • File/monitor bathroom checklists
    • Monitor/generate updated class schedules and class lists
    • Assist with tours for Montessori 
    • Maintain lessons are complete in classroom or make recommendations as to needs
    • Run meetings as needed/directed by Director
  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets

Monday – Friday

Responsibilities Include:

  • Instructors are responsible for the creation of all materials related to activities. Prior to distribution, all materials must be pre-approved by Rosarian Academy.
  • Daily attendance records must be submitted to the Main Office within 30 minutes of the start of each daily session. (No later than 3:25)
