Rosarian Academy is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for its next Principal, beginning July 1, 2019. Located in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida , Rosarian Academy is the only independent Catholic school in Palm Beach County. Founded in 1925 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, its mission is to educate the whole person for life in the light of Gospel values. For over 90 years, Rosarian has been dedicated to providing its students with the foundation to live life filled with faith, knowledge, and service, starting in the Montessori program (up to five years old) and continued through the Lower School (k-4th grade) and Middle School (5th – 8th grade).

Reporting to the Head of School, the Principal will be supportive in the areas of faculty development, curriculum development, and teaching. The ideal candidate will be an experienced teacher and successful administrator, preferably in an American-accredited independent school. He/she should demonstrate increasing responsibility and proof of accomplishment in the areas of recruitment and personnel development; curriculum development; teacher/staff evaluation and development; parent and alumni relations; student activities management; and student recruitment. Both an undergraduate and advanced degree is required, as well as a minimum of 2 years experience in administration.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strives daily to profess the Mission Statement of Rosarian Academy by fostering the school’s philosophy of education, goals, and objectives.
  • Assists the Head of School in overall administration of the school.
  • Serves as administrative head of the school in the absence of the Head of School.
  • Works closely with other members of the administrative team.
  • Directs the daily operations of the school.
  • Meets with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral concerns.
  • Maintains an open-door policy for parents, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, SACS Accreditation Committee, Admissions Committee, Technology Committee, Sports Committee.
  • Chairs weekly meetings with the faculty.
  • Assists the Head of School in planning and conducting faculty meetings.
  • Assists the Head of School in the selection and orientation of new teachers and staff.
  • Coordinates the formulation of the yearly and monthly school calendars.
  • Plans the weekly calendar and makes scheduling adjustments for various activities.
  • Coordinates weekly prayer service.
  • Supervises various activities (i.e. school lunch, assemblies, liturgies, arrival and dismissal, school dances, etc.).
  • Works with school teachers and curriculum coordinator on curriculum integration and progression.
  • Reviews school teachers’ weekly lesson plans.
  • Plans the master schedule for kindergarten through grade eight along with a scheduling team.
  • Assigns duties for teachers, i.e., arrival, dismissal, lunch duty, and hallway supervision.
  • Assists in the evaluation of the school’s academic, co-curricular and extracurricular programs and helps initiate needed improvements.
  • Observes and evaluates teacher performance.
  • Advises the Head of School on the evaluation of the teaching staff.
  • Works with the school directors on the annual revision of the Parent/Student Handbook and Employee Handbook.
  • Prepares the schedule for semester exams.
  • Plans middle school honors assemblies each quarter.
  • Oversees the preparation of progress reports and report cards.
  • Attends all school-wide functions and as many school extra-curricular activities as possible.
  • Meets with Head of School and Student Council members to discuss and plan activities.

Rosarian Academy seeks part-time after care teachers to supervise young children 1-2 years old. Candidates must be patient and love working with children. Responsibilities include planning activities and games for the after care participants. Hours are 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm M-F. Candidates must have the state required 40 hours, or begin them right away upon employment.

  • Rosarian Academy seeks qualified coaches for boys flag football, boys lacrosse and girls basketball. Interested candidates should have experience in working with middle school age children in a sports environment, as well as a minimum of two years playing and/or coaching the relevant sport.

  • General Summary:The Director of Annual Giving and Events should possess experience with special event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with internal and external customers. The Director should be a self-starter, take charge professionally with ability to manage time effectively in a busy special events environment. He/she must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Event Coordination
    Assume primary responsibility for Auction & Ball and related activities/events. Includes but not limited to underwriting, sponsorship, live auction, silent auction, corner events, class projects, guys night out, girls night out, shopping day, etc.

Manage Auction Chairs and volunteers

Serve as primary contact for RAFA and, when needed, assists with invitations, RSVPs, volunteers, chairs, set-up, expenses, and inventory for the following:
Spaghetti Dinner
RAFA Welcome Social
RAFA Welcome Back Picnic/Coffees
Family Fun Day
Raiders Shack
Used Uniforms/Bake Sales/Honors Assemblies Grandparents Day
Graduation Brunch

Prepare budgets and provide periodic progress reports for each event project.

Coordinate other events (as needed) & manage volunteers.

Annual Giving

Coordinate Annual Fund

Recruit and manage Class Agents

Maintain appreciation process for annual giving (Christmas cards, Thanksgiving cakes, thank you notes and phone calls)

Process gifts and manage donor database

Generate acknowledgments for tax purposes

Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, business administration or a related field, or associates degree with five years experience in community relations or related field. Successful completion of Level 1 and 2 Background Screening and VIRTUS Training.

Experience:
Minimum three years experience in event planning and fundraising.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.
Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
Self-starter with the ability to accomplish projects independently.
Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading skills, and public speaking.
Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google. Knowledge of Donor Perfect and Raiser’s Edge preferred.
Ability to work with and relate to internal and external audiences.
Skilled in determining fundraising sources and optimizing those contributions.
Demonstrated understanding of fiscal responsibility and quality management.
Ability to handle confidential information, work with and relate well to staff and community.
Must be a team player.

Physical:
Must be able to stand, stoop, sit, push, pull, climb, lift heavy objects and walk intermittently during the day.
Must be capable of seeing and hearing or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of the position can be fully met.

Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
Work is performed typically in an office environment and involves frequent use of a computer and telephones.
Will drive to run errands and perform work with donors in the community.

  • Rosarian Academy seeks substitute teachers for daily instructional needs. This is a per diem position that is required for Early Childhood, Lower and Middle School. Qualifications: A BA degree and experience teaching students in one or more divisions: Early Childhood, Lower School and Middle School. Teaching and or Assistant Teaching experience is preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills as well as a love for working with children or young adults is required.

  • Rosarian Academy seeks a part-time (with the possibility of becoming full-time) Teacher’s Aide in the early elementary level beginning on August 18th, 2017. The Teacher’s Aide, under the supervision of the classroom teacher or division head, performs the necessary duties to assist in the planning and implementation of a program for the regular and special needs of children in the classroom.
