On Monday, February 28, a small group of Rosarian Academy eighth-grade students attended a breakfast at The Breakers Hotel, compliments of the Palm Beach Civic Association. The event featured Willie Geist, co-host of Morning Joe on CNBC and host of Sunday Today on NBC. The students in attendance were:
Ella Ross Lang
Nicholas Lombardi
Grace Molina
Brady Surovek
Annabelle Walsh
Mercer Ward
Mark Albury
As a basis for selection, middle school social studies teacher, Mrs. Denise Lawrence, required the whole eighth-grade class to write an essay on “What It Means To Be Civic-Minded.” The seven students listed above received the highest grades on the essay. Brady Surovek’s work received the top mark. Consequently, his essay appeared in the event’s program and he was honored on stage with an award.
