World-Class and Paris-Based Herms Quartet to Perform for Rosarian Academy Students January 15, 2016

WHAT:             

The Chber Music Society of Palm Beach has joined forces with Rosarian Academy to expose its students to great young artists. The world-class, Paris-based Herms Quartet will perform in Rosarian AcademyÕs Theater on Friday, January 15, 2016.

According to The Washington Post, the Herms Quartet Òwill likely take their place ong the top quartets of our time.Ó They have already been heard in prestigious European venues. They have been presented in Italy at the Chber Music Association of Trieste, Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, the Viareggio Festival, and Paganini Festival de la Spezia; in France at the Festival de lÕOrangerie de Sceaux, Quatuors a_ St. Roch Festival, Yverdon-les-Bains Castle, Festival Quatuor a_ LÕOuest, Cha_teau de Lourmarin, Festival Musique dans le Gre_sivaudan, Festival de lÕE_pau in Sarthe, Les Musicades in Lyon, and Festival de Radio France et Montpellier; at the Lockenhaus Festival in Austria; and in Germany at Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Crescendo festival at Universita_t der Ku_nste Berlin.

Winner of the 2012 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, the Herme_s Quartet made its U.S. debuts to rave reviews at the opening concerts of the Young Concert Artists Series at CarnegieÕs Zankel Hall, and at the Kennedy CenterÕs Terrace Theater. It has been awarded many prestigious prizes: The 2013 NORDMETALL Ensemble Prize from the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern; First Prize at the 2011 Geneva International Music Competition and the ÒCoup de Coeur BreguetÓ prize, which brought them a recording on the Ysay_e Records/Nascor label; First Prize in the 2011 European Young Concert Artists Auditions in Leipzig, Germany; First Prize at the 2010 European Chber Music Competition in Paris; and First Prize at the 2009 Lyon International Music Competition, along with three special awards and the Bayer ÒCoup de CoeurÓ prize. The Quartet is the Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels.
