Palm Beach Day Academy and Rosarian Academy boys middle-school varsity basketball tes seem poised for impressive seasons with strong starts in the new season.
Palm Beach Day opened with a victory over St. MarkÕs. The Bulldogs went into halftime tied at 12 but roared back in the second half, outscoring their opponents 26-11.
The Bulldogs were led by Jackson Cohlan, with 11 points. Remington Howell added nine and Braedon Rupp chipped in seven. Also scoring were Chris Ochstein, Nate Grentine and Jackson Hanson.
Rosarian opened its season with a 37-24 win over Meyer Academy.
After trailing 11-10 at the half, Rosarian rebounded in the second half with a full-court press and a revitalized transition ge that propelled the Raiders on a 10-0 run.
Tony Azqueta led all scorers with 13 points. Chase Duran had six and Teddy Ward added five.
