Rosarian Track Season Takes Off
The Rosarian Academy Track Team competed in their first two meets of the season on March 7 and March 14 at Cardinal Newman High School. Each Rosarian runner entered three of the following events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1600m. At this point, all runners are competing for their personal best times. 5th grader Trey Wagner achieved his goal of a sub 6:00 mile with a 5:56 finishing time at the March 14 meet. Other participating schools included All Saints Catholic School, Franklin Academy, Meyer Academy, St. Ann, St. Clare, St. Juliana, St. Luke, St. Vincent Ferrer and The Weiss School.
The track team’s next competition will take place on April 23 at St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton. The Championship Meet is April 29, also at St. Andrew’s. Awards will be given at the final meet for first, second, and third places in each event in the divisions of 4th-5th grade girls, 6th-8th grade girls, 4th-5th grade boys, and 6th-8th grade boys. Rosarian team members include Iliana Beauchamp (7th), McKenna Boysan (4th), Sloane Clarke (5th), Annabelle Damiano (4th), Jack Hansen (4th), Ariane Holton (7th), Tristan Raich (6th), Chase Rehm (4th), Julia Schmidt (4th) and Trey Wagner (5th).
Rosarian Academy, founded in 1925, educates students from early childhood through eighth grade and offers an exceptionally strong academic program enriched by athletics, visual and performing arts, and community service opportunities.
