The Rosarian Academy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday for the opening of the renovated Jake Rubin Field. The ceremony preceded the school’s annual Field Day activities.
Several teams — clad in team colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, purple, black and white — participated.
The middle school Field Day traditionally occurs each October but was postponed this year due to resurfacing and renovating the field and outdoor play areas. The construction has been ongoing since the end of last school year.
“The Rosarian Academy outdoor play areas and field were in need of repair.
Thanks to generous donors, over $500,000 was raised to update the Early Childhood and Kindergarten play areas; install a new Lower School play structure; and to resurface the Jake Rubin Field.
The renewed and reconfigured outdoor space includes an astroturf practice field (named the Smith Moore Field) and two outdoor basketball courts and two outdoor sports courts,” school officials said in a release.
