Boys Varsity Basketball Recap –
Rosarian boys basketball has started the season off with a 2-1 record in league play under Head Coach Vincent DeAguila. The Raiders first defeated Trinity Christian (32-12) with a great showing from 8th-grade guard, Jack Mischke, leading the team’s offense with 12 points. In the next game against Atlantic Christian, the Raiders found their stride in the 4th quarter, scoring 19 points– led by a balanced offensive attack with MJ Hanlon (8 points), Liam Landers (7 points), and Cade Randolph (6 points). The game closed with a final score of 34-17. In Rosarian’s latest game against Jupiter Christian, the boys finished a bit short. Although it was a closely contested game through the first three quarters, Jupiter Christian ended up taking over the game in the final quarter, and the Raiders fell 37-12. The Rosarian team is led by a talented group of 8th graders, including Dawson Brown, Matthew Cohen, MJ Hanlon, Liam Landers, and Jack Mischke. With balanced scoring and great defense, the offense is controlled by point guard MJ Hanlon who has a great feel for the game and Liam Landers who is torching the net as the Raiders’ leading scorer. The varsity Raiders are averaging 25 points per game. Matti Cohen and Tucker Yavinsky (7th grade) supply a great one-two punch with their rebounding and defensive play. The Raiders hope to ride this momentum into next week with games against Palm Beach Day Academy (Tuesday) and St. Mark’s Episcopal (Wednesday).
