ROSARIAN ZOOMS ALONG WITH HONORS ASSEMBLY TO HONOR ACADEMIC & ATHLETIC ACHIEVERS
Rosarian Academy zoomed ahead earlier today with an assembly, scheduled pre-pandemic, honoring academic and athletic achievers in grades 5-8. Traditionally, the local West Palm Beach school holds honors assemblies with the Middle School student body and parents at the conclusion of each trimester in its 485-person professional theater. Today’s awards assembly was a new experience: it was held over Zoom. Head of School, Linda Trethewey, and various teachers and coaches took turns presenting awards accompanied by a Google Slides presentation of student/athlete photos and printed names.
Eighth-grade students selected as Palm Beach Kiwanis Club Students of the Month were recognized for their excellence, character, and leadership potential: Harry Scarola (December), Nicholas Stewart (January), Molly Lanahan (February), Tucker Yavinsky (March).
Finalists in the Religion, Geography and Spelling Bees were recognized. Olivia Wagner (8th), Cate Frerichs (7th), Chase Pariseleti (6th), and Emarie Thibaut (5th) won the school Religion Bee. Sixth-grader Jack Smeenge came in 1st place for the GeoBee. Emma Chopin (7th) was the winner and Mark Albury (6th) was the runner-up of the Scripps School-Level Spelling Bee.
Eight students were recognized for achieving Highest Academic Honors (All “A’s” in the second trimester and on all exams): seventh grade—Marcello Fiorentino, Cate Frerichs, Nicholas Grippi, Georgina Keogh, Sofia Machado, Chloe McGann, Joseph Modenos; eighth grade—Angela Frankland, Juan-Lucas Gonzalez-Cabanellas, Tucker Yavinsky.
Sixth-through-eighth-grade students who received a grade point average of 3.5 or better qualified for Honor Roll: sixth grade—Mark Albury, Heidi Alcime, Ava Castro, Catie Ewing, Pierce Johnson, Charlotte Jordan, Ella Ross Lang, Grace Molina, Chase Pariseleti, Jack Smeenge, Margaret Toner, Trey Wagner, Annabelle Walsh, Joseph Walsh, Mercer Ward; seventh grade—Sophia Angle, Emma Chopin, Bailey Groth, Eleanor Hall, Isabelle Herlong, Risa Hernandez, Finn Jarvi, Nellie Miller, Winston Moore, Parker Pressly, Logan Ray, Marissa Sanchez, Katherine Teubner, Natasha Yedinak; eighth grade—Natalie Acosta, Alexandra Beauchamp, Iliana Beauchamp, Olivia Debbs, Ariane Holton, Quinlyn Janson, Molly Lanahan, Loran McGruder, Daniele Mischke, Makenzie Rogers, Harry Scarola, Layna Steele, Nicholas Stewart, Harper Throop, Olivia Wagner, Amelia Walsh.
All students who participated in a winter sport—boys and girls soccer and boys and girls basketball—were acknowledged. The following student-athletes received awards:

Rosarian is doing all it can to continue to make learning come alive and provide distance learning experiences that are meaningful and manageable in these uncertain times.
In a recent note to parents, Mrs. Trethewey wrote, “We understand the emotional hardship this time away from school and friends may be having on you and your children: cancelations of sports season, special events, traditional annual field trips, etc. We are assessing the upcoming calendar of events to see how we can best transition as much as we can to virtual platforms. We strive to continue to honor our students and their Rosarian experiences.”
Rosarian Academy, founded in 1925, educates students from early childhood through eighth grade and offers an exceptionally strong academic program enriched by athletics, visual and performing arts, and community service opportunities. STEM, coding, art, drama, music theory, and Spanish classes begin in kindergarten.
