Rosarian adds cross-country team

ThereÕs a new boysÕ and girlsÕ team at Rosarian Academy: cross-country.

Fourth-grade teacher Katherine Murphy began a running club a year ago that morphed into the te. C.C. Loynd joined in this season to help share the coaching duties. The school also will compete in track and field in the spring.

The six-member te competed in its inaugural meet on Sept. 9 against All Saints School and St. Luke School over a 1.5-mile course at Cardinal Newman High School. In all 25 runners competed and Rosarian eighth-grader John Carlson finished first with a time of 12:05. Also competing were sixth-graders Lily Diffenderfer and Elise Lanahan.
