Rosarian Academy presents Grease: May 12, 13, &p; 14
WHAT:
Grease is the word! And the word is coming to Rosarian Academy May 12, 13, and 14. Directed by Robert Sherman and led by seventh-graders Sailor Kate Ashley (Sandy) and Javier Keough (Danny), the cast of 50 in this school edition of Grease will take the audience back to the 1950’s and have everyone singing along to the classics of the most successful movie musical of all time.
The production will include many surprises, including the Greased Lightnin’ car, a student-produced horror movie within the play, and a live five-piece 50’s style band filled with professional musicians including Musical Director Gay Dedo on piano and Neel Shukla on percussion. Choreography is staged by New York professional Jeanne Bennett. Dean LandhuisÕ professionally designed set is multi-level and the largest single set ever constructed for a Rosarian show. The third-through-eighth-grade cast of Grease is the largest, by one member, since RosarianÕs production of Oklahoma in 2002.
Grease, The School Edition premieres Thursday, May 12 at 7:00 PM. Additional performances are Friday May 13 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, May 14 at 2:30 PM.
