Fireflies & bowties Ô Beneath the southern skiesÕ at Rosarian academyÕs Ball & Auction
Rosarian AcademyÕs 38th Annual Rose Ball and Auction, Fireflies & Bowties, took place Friday, March 10, 2017, at The Breakers. Auction Chairs Jackie Breckenridge and Amy Guerrieri used their southern charm to transform The BreakersÕ Mediterranean ballroom into an elegant evening Ôbeneath the southern skies of Florida.Õ The night included silent and live auctions, dinner, dancing and raffles.
The over 240 attendees helped the local private school raised over $300,000. While guests used smart phones and iPads to bid for silent auction items through BidPal for the fourth consecutive year, auctioneer and long-time supporter of Rosarian Academy, Jim Arrigo, lead the live auction for the sixteenth year.
Some of the underwriters who made the Ball & Auction possible include: Mr. & Mrs. Jim Arrigo, Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Jordan, Mr. & Mrs. William Koch, Ms. Danielle Hickox Moore, and Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Moore.
As an independent school, Rosarian relies solely on donations and fundraising activities to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating students.
The tradition of the Ball & Auction, the schoolÕs largest annual fundraiser, is a well-loved and attended event by the Rosarian Academy community. For nearly 25 years, Rosarian has been holding this event at The Breakers.
Rosarian Academy, founded in 1925, educates students from early childhood through eighth grade and offers an exceptionally strong academic program enriched by athletics, visual and performing arts, and community service opportunities. The independent, Catholic school is located on Flagler Drive in downtown West Palm Beach and is sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters.
