WHAT:
Rosarian Academy will Middle School students will perform Rodgers & HammersteinÕs, ÒOklahoma!Ó under the direction of Theater Arts director Robert Sherman, with choreography by Jeanne Bennet and musical direction by Gay Dedo.
Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly (Jack Fields, 8th Grade), a handsome cowboy, and Laurey (Sailor Kate Ashley, 8th Grade), a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today.
Rosarian Academy will present the production of Oklahoma! on Friday, April 28 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, April 29 at 2:00 PM at 807 N. Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. Tickets are $6 for students and $12 for adults and can be purchased at ra.booktix.com.
