ROSARIAN ACADEMY PLANS SCHOOL-WIDE GLEAN TO PREVENT FOOD WASTE AND HELP FEED THE LOCAL HUNGRY
The National Junior Honor Society at Rosarian Academy is leading a school-wide gleaning effort to provide food for those less fortunate in Palm Beach County on April 26, 2013 from 10-12pm. Pre-school through 8th grade students and filies will spend part of their school holiday picking corn that will get delivered to the Palm Beach County Food Bank and then distributed to local agencies and shelters that feed the hungry in our community. Gleaning is so important because 52 million pounds of produce on farms are wasted every year. Through this meaningful community service project, the students experience the power of making a positive difference in the lives of others through service.
