LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER

In the library media center, we strive to do the following: provide quality resources and instruction to students and staff, encourage all to become effective users of ideas and information, support collaboration, promote lifelong reading and learning, and create an authentic learning setting.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

The library media center is open each school day from 7:35 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for book selection, study, projects, homework or research.

Circulation period

Lower School students may borrow two books for two weeks; Middle School students may borrow two books for four weeks. All students are encouraged to borrow one book from within their ZPD (AR reading level) and a free choice for their second selection.

Overdue books

Students are accountable for all books checked out. Overdue notices are sent home on a monthly basis in their folders. Students have 10 school days to return or renew the book before it will be turned over to the business office for the replacement cost of the book.
