Rosarian to Resume In-Person Learning, Gives Families Choice to Stay Home
In-person, on-campus teaching and learning is set to resume for Rosarian Academy on August 26, 2020. The independent, Catholic school in downtown West Palm Beach aims for children to be physically present in school and continue their academic progress with direct face-to-face instruction. To support those families with a student or family member in a high-risk group and those not ready to return to campus, Rosarian is also offering an at-home Adaptive Learning, synchronous (live) instruction, option. The Adaptive Learning platform will provide a livestream classroom experience. The students will be able to view all classroom activities via the new technology of “Owl” cameras that are being installed into classrooms.
The school administrative team released its Return-to-School Plan to the parent community last Wednesday, July 15. The plan provides an overview of the learning options for the 2020-2021 academic year, detailed with the specific health precautions the community will follow for a safe return to campus.
In a recent letter to the school community, Shaun McGruder, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated:
“Keeping the school open daily is our priority; however, we also understand that health and safety considerations must support all decisions. As an independent, private school, we are fortunate to have low student-to-teacher ratios on our side for appropriate physical distancing, as well as the appropriate funds to put adequate health precautions into place to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. The COVID Task Force is making every effort to promote the safety of all members of the school community. We cannot eliminate all risk, but can reduce and manage risk to make our campus as safe as possible.”
