Rosarian Academy hosted fourth through eighth-grade students and parents for its First Trimester Honors Ceremony in the Rosarian Theater on Thursday, December 2. Moderated by Linda Trethewey, Head of School, Virginia Devine, Principal, Joy VanDyke, Guidance Counselor, and Lindsey Beylo Kutner, Athletics Director, the ceremony began with opening remarks from Ms. Devine and continued with recognition of the students who earned character awards over the first three months of the school year.

Earning character pins for this month’s character trait of “Courage” were fifth-grade student, Sebastian Hilfiger, sixth-grade student Serena Weingartner, seventh-grade students Lulu Peters and Orion Vincent, and eighth-grade student Trey Wagner. Mrs. VanDyke then honored the students who have received the Kiwanis Club Student of the Month award and announced that Annabelle Walsh will be recognized as the December Student of the Month for, among other traits, living out the Golden Rule in all her interactions each day.

Sixth through eighth-grade advisory teachers announced the first trimester Honor Roll students next. Students receiving academic honors in the sixth grade were:  Olivia Addesa (1st Honors), Isla Brawn (1st Honors), Tessa Brown (1st Honors and Double E), Dane Campbell (2nd Honors), Chloe Castro (2nd Honors), Nicholas Ferik (1st Honors and Double E), Beatrice George (1st Honors), Vivian Lanahan (2nd Honors), Santino Merchan (2nd Honors), Caroline Mischke (1st Honors and Double E), Ava Rodriguez (1st Honors and Double E), Andrew Sevald (1st Honors and Double E), Cormac Toner (1st Honors), Kayla Ugarte (1st Honors and Double E), Serena Weingartner (1st Honors and Double E), and Caroline Yohe (1st Honors).

Seventh-grade students receiving academic honors were:  Ainslee Aden (1st Honors), Walker Albury (1st Honors and Double E), Nicholas Brinson (1st Honors and Double E), Mia Chaves (1st Honors), Jack Freitas (1st Honors and Double E), Eva Furlo (1st Honors), Max Griffin (1st Honors), Jack Hansen (1st Honors), A.J. Herlong (2nd Honors), Kenyon King (2nd Honors), Isabella Pedroni Spinola (1st Honors and Double E), Lulu Peters (2nd Honors), Whitney Ray (2nd Honors), Chase Rehm (2nd Honors), Shilo Replanski (2nd Honors and Double E), Isabella Sprafka (2nd Honors), Coley Surovek (1st Honors), and Orion Vincent (1st Honors and Double E).

In the eighth grade, students receiving academic honors were:  Mark Albury (1st Honors), Heidi Alcime (1st Honors and Double E), Luc Borzillieri (1st Honors and Double E), Ava Castro (1st Honors), Hannah Cook (2nd Honors), Pierce Johnson (2nd Honors), Ella Ross Lang (1st Honors and Double E), Asher Levitt (2nd Honors), Rocco Marcello (2nd Honors), Grace Molina (2nd Honors), Chase Pariseleti (1st Honors and Double E), Brady Surovek (1st Honors and Double E), Trey Wagner (2nd Honors and Double E), Annabelle Walsh (1st Honors and Double E), Joseph Walsh (Double E), and Mercer Ward (1st Honors and Double E).

The ceremony continued by recognizing over 70 student-athletes who competed in interscholastic fall sports. The Junior Varsity Flag Football team recognized Walker Albury with the Sportsmanship Award and Jack Freitas with the Grit Award. The players on the team included: Walker Albury, Wells Bahl, Finn Beylo, Dane Campbell, Nick Coniglio, Nick Ferik, Jack Freitas, Liam Hardyman, Preston Martin, Eammon McCarrol, Michael McDonald, Carter Osiecki, and Isabella Sprafka.

The Varsity Flag Football team recognized Mark Albury with the Sportsmanship Award and Chase Pariseleti with the Grit Award. The members of the Varsity Flag Football team included: Mark Albury, Julian Barr, Joseph Cioffi, Luca Furlo, Max Griffin, Jack Hansen, A.J. Herlong, Anthony Javarone, Nicholas Lombardi, Quinn McGruder, Chase Pariseleti, Chase Rehm, Coley Surovek, Trey Wagner, Joseph Walsh, and George Weston.

The Cross Country team recognized three award recipients. Tessa Brown and Trey Wagner won the Running Raider awards, and Frank Coniglio won the Rookie of the Year award. The Cross Country team included: Zaza Brin, Tessa Brown, Jackson Chopin, Frank Coniglio, Frederick Searby, Liam St. John, Brady Surovek, Lachlan Throop, and Trey Wagner.

The volleyball program had a very successful year and consisted of three teams. The Development team included: Derby Boren, Isabella Day, Anabella Bennemann, Gabby Fulton, Lily Ivancevic, Ava Logsdon, Ava Shrikhande, Ainslee Theiss, and Alora Wilt.

The Junior Varsity Volleyball team recognized three award recipients. Ava Rodriguez won the Sportsmanship Award, Caroline Yohe won the Grit Award, and Charlotte Bischoff won the MVP award. The team included: Savannah Andersen, Charlotte Bischoff, Isla Brawn, Charlee Handley, Cecilia Hansen, Abby Hardyman, Ceci Hernandez-Macias, Vivian Lanahan, Ava Rodriguez, and Caroline Yohe.

The Varsity Volleyball team had three players receiving awards. Grace Molina won the Sportsmanship Award, Mercer Ward won the Grit Award, and Ava Castro won the MVP Award. The team included: Ainslee Aden, Heidi Alcime, Vivienne Angle, Tessa Brown, Ava Castro, Hannah Cook, Emma Flynn, Ella Ross Lang, Caroline Mischke, Grace Molina, Whitney Ray, and Mercer Ward.

Finally, the ceremony concluded by honoring the students who participated in the lower school musical and middle school play. Fourth-grade students who performed in Frozen were: Anna Borzillieri, Mary Brown, Cait Campbell, Sophia Castro, Tristan Catalano, Annabelle Coleman, Micaela Conley, Madison Darsch, Cerina Deitz, Andrew Farrell, Lola Grande, Jasmine Lazzara, Olivia Logsdon, Vespa McDonald, Sky Requena, Brynn Russell, Olivia Seidler, and Khloe Ugarte. The cast and crew of the Middle School production of Scared Silly were: Anabella Bennemann, Isabella Day, Elisa Duran, Matias Duran, Lily Ivancevic, Ava Logsdon, Berley Parks, Shilo Replanski, Ava Shrikhande, Kendall Theiss, Orion Vincent, and Alora Wilt.
