Honoring 1st Trimester Academic and Athletic Achievers at Rosarian Academy
Rosarian Academy held an awards ceremony December 9 to honor and recognize its middle school students with exceptional academic performance and lower and middle school students for athletic achievements during the first trimester of the school year.
Four studentsÑMercedes Cassidy (7th), Hope Diffenderfer (8th), Devyn Dyett (8th), and Lorenzo Escobar (8th)Ñwere recognized for achieving Highest Academic Honors (All ÒAÕsÓ in the first trimester and on all exams). Two students received Accelerated Reader awards for having read 300,000 words or more since the start of the school year: +500,000 words–Elise Lanahan (7th); +1,000,000 wordsÑBlair Haft (7th). Eighth-grade students selected as Kiwanis Students of the Month were recognized: Bettina Johnston (October), Marlowe Dunn Flom (November), Sophia Mendez (December).
Fourteen seventh-grade students earned at least a 95 percentile or higher on an acceptable composite or subset area from a previous standardized test and qualified as Duke University Talent Identification Program Scholars and were honored: Maggie Acosta, Spencer Bernstein, Jamis Bornschein, Wilder Breckenridge, Mercedes Cassidy, Joseph Coates, Grace Colangelo, Madison Fabbri, Macarena Gonzalez, Blair Haft, Emma Hardyman, Jack Keogh, Elise Lanahan, Finn Throop.
