ROSARIAN STUDENTS RECOGNIZED FOR OUTSTANDING WORK IN MATH AND WRITING: 2 STUDENTS WIN MATH COMPETITION; 6 STUDENTS WIN ESSAY/POETRY CONTES
Rosarian Academy students were recognized for their outstanding work at the Diocesan Math Competition and The LordÕs Place Essay, Poetry and Drawing Contest; both took place on Friday, April 11.
Seventh grader Mac Murphy swept first place ong all students in his grade-level category and Thomas Raymond took third place for the sixth graders. Twelve middle schools from the Diocese of Palm Beach competed in the Catholic schools math tournent, including 20 sixth graders, 22 seventh graders, and 22 eighth graders. All participants took three timed tests. Each studentÕs scores of the tests were combined and the three highest scorers in each grade level won trophies.
With regards to writing, six students received medals for their winning entries in The LordÕs Place contest: Meredith Eaton (first grade); Cade Randolph (second grade); Olivia Klein (third grade); Elizabeth Guerrieri (fourth grade); Blair Haft (fourth grade); Bard Rockenbach (sixth grade). Rosarian administration encouraged students to participate in the contest to help educate them on the most vulnerable population in Palm Beach CountyÑthe homeless. The contest gave all K-12 students in Palm Beach County the opportunity to compete with other schools and help foster greater compassion and personal responsibility towards serving others. The contest winners were announced at The LordÕs Place Annual SleepOut at the Meyer phitheater on Friday night, April 11.
