Harry Scarola, a Rosarian Academy seventh-grader, traveled to Durham, N.C., on May 20 to be honored as one of the 607 seventh-graders from around the country who placed in the top 5 percent in the Duke University Talent Identification Program.
Scarola’s composite score of 24 also earned him recognition in the Florida Recognition Ceremony earlier in May at Florida Atlantic University. Almost 400 students were recognized for scoring at least 22 on a section of the ACT test.
Scarola’s score also qualified him as a Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship candidate. He’ll find out later this month whether he has been selected as a recipient.
