Honoring 2ND Trimester Academic and Athletic Achievers at Rosarian Academy

Rosarian Academy held an awards ceremony April 6 to honor and recognize its middle school students with exceptional academic performance and athletic achievements during the second trimester of the school year.

Four eighth-grade students were recognized for achieving Highest Academic Honors (All “A’s” in the second trimester and on all exams)—Maggie Acosta, Mercedes Cassidy, Madison Fabbri, and Logan McGruder. Students received Accelerated Reader awards as follows: +100,000 words —Valery Gonzalez (7th), Sam Hernandez (6th); +200,000 words—Alexander Lawrence (5th); +300,000—Victoria Reynolds (7th), Nicholas Stewart (6th); +400,000—James Flynn (5th); +500,000—Teddy Duncker (5th); +600,000— Robbie Vargas (8th); +700,000 words—Macarena Gonzalez (8th). Eighth-grade students selected as Kiwanis Students of the Month were recognized: Mercedes Cassidy (January), Jack Keogh (February), Delaney Groth (March). Bee winners were also recognized: Spelling—Nicholas Grippi (5th); Geography—Joseph Coates (8th); Religion—Declan Coates (5th), Joseph Coates (8th), Matt Cohen (7th), Juliana LaPapa (6th).

Sixth-through-eighth-grade students who received no less than a “B-” in all academic subjects and no grade less than “Satisfactory” in all co-curricular classes qualified for Honor Roll and received an award certificate: sixth grade—Natalie Acosta, Harrison Ashley, Alexandra Beauchamp, Iliana Beauchamp, James Cohen, Olivia Debbs, Eaton Dunn Flom, Angela Frankland, Giuliana Furlo,  Juan Lucas Gonzalez-Cabanellas, Samuel Hernandez, Ariane Holton, Quinlyn Janson, Jack Johnston, Alexia Keough, Kaitlin Koch, Molly Lanahan, Lulu Lang, Juliana LaPapa, Loran McGruder, Grace Miller, Daniele Mischke, Cade Randolph, Matthew Rodriguez, Makenzie Rogers, Harry Scarola, Cate Sieving, James Smeenge, Layna Steele, Nicholas Stewart, Harper Throop, Andy Vargas, Olivia Wagner, Amelia Walsh, Tucker Yavinsky; seventh grade— Sabrina Bernstein, Bobby Brown, Thomas Coates, Valery Gonzaelez, Lily Guari, Stephen Hall, MJ Hanlon, Ava Iuliani, Crede Janson, Olivia Klein, Alina Morrison, Mia Pariseleti, Victoria Reynolds, Trace Scuderi, Nicholas Scully, Louis Townsend, Parker Ward; eighth grade—Christian Azqueta, Jamis Bornschein, Wilder Breckenridge, Joseph Coates, Caleb Curtis, Brandon Dorsey, Emma Hardyman, Kalla Kerkorian, Finley Murray.

Double E Awards were given to students who received “E” in effort and conduct in all core and co-curricular subjects: sixth grade—Alexandra Beauchamp, Iliana Beauchamp, Olivia Debbs, Angela Frankland, Samuel Hernandez, Alexia Keough, Daniele Mischke, Harry Scarola, Layna Steele, Nicholas Stewart, Harper Throop, Amelia Walsh, Tucker Yavinsky; seventh grade—Olivia Klein, Mia Pariseleti; Victoria Reynolds, eighth grade—Macarena Gonzalez-Cabanellas, Finley Murray, Kalla Kerkorian.

All students who participated in a winter sport—basketball and soccer—were acknowledged. The following student-athletes received awards: Boys JV Basketball—Matthias Bessenroth (5th)/Heart Award, Jack Beylo (5th)/Defensive MVP, Tucker Yavinsky (6th)/Most Improved, Finn Duran (5th)/MVP; Boys Varsity Basketball—Wisner Jean (8th)/Most Improved, Jamis Bornschein (8th)/Defensive Player of the Year, Liam Landers (7th)/Coaches Award, Brandon Dorsey (8th)/MVP; Girls Varsity Basketball—Sara Gil (8th)/Defensive MVP, Elizabeth Guerrieri (8th)/Most Improved, Madison Fabbri (8th)/MVP, Maggie Acosta (8th)/Heart Award; Boys Soccer—Christian Azqueta (8th)/MVP, Jack Keogh (8th)/Defensive MVP, Bobby Brown (7th)/Heart Award, Grey Bauer (7th)/Most Improved, Wilder Breckenridge (8th)/Unsung Hero; Girls Varsity Soccer—Maddison Fabbri (8th)/Hustle Award; Maggie Acosta (8th)/Heart Award; Logan McGruder (8th)/Love of the Game; Grace Colangelo (8th)/Offensive Player of the Year.

The entire girls soccer team was recognized as the Palm Beach Independent School Athletic Conference Soccer Champions for the second consecutive year.

Following the academic and athletic recognition, two eighth-grade students, Delaney Groth and Finley Murray, were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society based on their scholarship, leadership, character, service, and citizenship.
