A year ago, Rosarian Academy’s girls soccer team broke Benjamin School’s long reign as Palm Beach Independent School Athletic Conference champion. This year, Rosarian won again, with a 2-1 victory over St. Mark’s Episcopal School on Benjamin’s field in North Palm Beach.
“I was so proud of the girls,” said Raiders coach and athletic director Lindsey Beylo. “They played the best game they had played all year in the championship, and it was sure a nail-biter.”
The Raiders struck early with first-half goals by Parker Ward and Grace Colangelo. In the second half, the Lions’ Brooke Barboni scored, and as the game wore on, the Lions pushed hard for an equalizer.
Other members of the team are goalkeeper Logan McGruder, Maggie Acosta, Natalie Acosta, Katarina Bessenroth, Sabrina Bessenroth, Olivia Debbs, Madison Fabbri, Lily Guari, Kaitlyn Koch, Grace Miller, Mia Pariseletti, Logan Ray, Makenzie Rogers, Katie Teubner, Amelia Walsh, Natasha Yedinak, Eliza Ashley, Ryleigh Beazley, Bailey Groth, Ava Iuliani, Angela Frankland, Sofia Machado and Marissa Sanchez.
Beylo and Melissa Vitagliano coached the squad.
