Kate Ashley honored as Kiwanis Club Student of Month

April 19, 2017

On Tuesday, April 11th, Rosarian Academy eighth grader Sailor Kate Ashley was honored as the Kiwanis Club Student of the Month at The Chesterfield Palm Beach. Although Sailor Kate was unable to attend the luncheon due to Rosarian’s eighth-grade class trip to Washington, D.C, she submitted a video acceptance speech which was shown at the event.

In her speech, Sailor Kate expressed that in her nine years attending Rosarian, the school “has built me to be who I am today and has taught me how to achieve my dreams and goals using my attitude, moral values, and faith. It has built me up to learn to be confident in myself, compassionate toward others, ambitious to reach for the stars, and to keep my eyes open to look for new opportunities to learn and grow as an individual.”

Sailor Kate has been an active member of the National Junior Honor Society, Vice President of the eighth-grade class, a member of student council, and a participant in the Duke TIP talent identification program. She will be attending the Broadway Artist summer intensive program at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and has been accepted into the Dreyfoos School of the Performing Arts’ Musical Theatre Program for high school.

Rosarian Academy, founded in 1925, educates students from early childhood through eighth grade and offers an exceptionally strong academic program enriched by athletics, visual and performing arts, and community service opportunities. The independent, Catholic school is located on Flagler Drive in downtown West Palm Beach and is sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters.
