Rosarian 8th-graders shine at science fair

Four eighth-grade Rosarian Academy students placed at the recent Regional Science Fair at the South Florida Fairgrounds.

Daniel Mullen received second place in the category of Animal Science (the Lion Country Safari Award), along with a check for $100.

His project, “Something’s Fishy,” tested how different types of light affect the weight of guppies. According to his finding, white light caused the most weight gain and blue light resulted in the least ount of weight gain. Mullen advances to the Broadcom Masters event, which is billed as the premier science and engineering competition for middle school students.
