Rosarian Academy Student Shares Special Moment with Aaron Judge at MLB All-Star Game

Rosarian Academy is proud to celebrate one of this summer’s most memorable moments for one of our students: third grade student Andres Valero represented Rosarian Academy at the MLB All-Star Game, where he shared an unforgettable exchange with New York Yankees star Aaron Judge on FOX.

During the live broadcast, Judge asked Andres about his own baseball game and encouraged him with the words, “I’ll see you out here in a couple years.” The heartwarming exchange highlighted the joy of America’s pastime and left Andres inspired.

Baseball runs deep in the Valero family. Andres’ grandfather, Andrés “The Big Cat” Galarraga, is a five-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove first baseman, best known for his years with the Atlanta Braves. This summer, Galarraga joined Braves legends Chipper Jones and Andruw Jones to throw the ceremonial first pitch before the Midsummer Classic in Atlanta. The trio last shared the All-Star stage in 2000, when Atlanta previously hosted the game.

Deciding to make the experience a family affair, Galarraga brought his grandson Andres along, creating a once-in-a-lifetime summer memory that spanned generations. From his grandfather’s historic return to the mound to his own moment with Aaron Judge, Andres experienced baseball at its very best.

Rosarian Academy has been privileged to be part of this legacy, as all three of Galarraga’s daughters are proud alumnae of the school. Now, with young Andres carrying on the family’s love of the game, the Rosarian community celebrates the connection between faith, family, and tradition that defines our mission.

As Rosarian Academy enters its Centennial year, stories like Andres’ remind us that the values of teamwork, perseverance, and faith instilled on campus extend far beyond the classroom.
