Linda Trethewey Begins Role as Rosarian Academy’s Middle School Principal
In April 2017, Rosarian Academy Head of School Stephen Rubenacker announced the appointment of Linda Trethewey as Middle School Principal commencing in the 2017-2018 academic year.
Mrs. Trethewey joins Rosarian from St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Miami Shores, FL, where she worked as curriculum director, teacher, and school administrator. She served as assistant principal in both the Maryland Public School System and the Archdiocese of Miami, including 10 years at St. Bonaventure Catholic School in Davie, FL.
After graduating from Chatham University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Mrs. Trethewey went on to receive her Masters of Supervision and Administration at Towson University. She is currently a doctoral candidate for Management and Supervision at St. Thomas University in Miami.
The Middle School Principal search began February 2017 when Principal Sister Donna Baker, O.P. announced her resignation after 16 years of service to Rosarian Academy to spend more time working in service of the Adrian Dominican Sisters.
In Mr. Rubenacker’s announcement to the school community, he stated, “As a devout Catholic with over 25 years of experience in public, private, and diocesan education, [Mrs. Trethewey] brings a great deal of experience and wisdom to our school. We are thrilled that she will be joining us.”
Mrs. Trethewey officially joined the Rosarian Academy community on July 1. She commented:
“I am so blessed to join the Rosarian Academy Administrative Team. I have already experienced the warm welcome that makes Rosarian Academy a special place. As Middle School Principal, I look forward to fostering the continued rigor and strong curriculum commitment, as well as infusing the gospel message in all areas of the daily routine and curriculum.”
Linda Trethewey and her husband, Scott, reside in Ft. Lauderdale and have four children.
