Honoring 1st Trimester Academic and Athletic Achievers at Rosarian Academy

Rosarian Academy held an awards ceremony Friday, December 6 to honor and recognize its middle school students with exceptional academic performance and lower and middle school students for athletic achievements during the first trimester of the school year.

Three eighth-grade students were recognized for achieving Highest Academic Honors (All “A’s” in the first trimester and on all exams)—Juan-Lucas Gonzalez-Cabanellas, Layna Steele, Amelia Walsh.  Two students received Accelerated Reader awards for having read over one million words in the first trimester: Kassandra Andreou (5th grade) and Iliana Beachchamp (8th grade).  Eighth-grade students selected as Kiwanis Students of the Month were recognized: Harper Throop (October), Iliana Beauchamp (November).

Sixth-through-eighth-grade students with a Grade Point Average of 3.5 or better  and no grade less than “Satisfactory” in all co-curricular classes qualified for Honor Roll and received an award certificate: sixth grade—Mark Albury, Heidi Alcime, Ava Castro, Gigi Chaney, Catie Ewing, Charlotte Jordan, Ella Ross Lang, Asher Levitt, Grace Molina, Chase Pariseleti, Jack Smeenge, Margaret Toner, Trey Wagner, Annabelle Walsh, Joseph Walsh, Mercer Ward; seventh grade—Sophia Angle, Eliza Ashley, Nicole Atteridge, Ellie Bischoff, Emma Chopin, Eleanor Hall, Marcello Fiorentino, Cate Frerichs, Nicholas Grippi, Bailey Groth, Isabelle Herlong, Risa Hernandez, Anthony Iuliani, Finn Jarvi, Georgina Keogh, Sophia Machado, Chloe McGann, Nellie Miller, Joseph Modenos, Winston Moore, Parker Pressly, Logan Ray, Katherine Teubner, Natasha Yedinak; eighth grade— Natalie Acosta, Alexandra Beauchamp, Iliana Beauchamp, Olivia Debbs, Angela Frankland, Samuel Hernandez, Quinlyn Janson, Lulu Lang, Molly Lanahan, Loran McGruder, Daniele Mischke, Cade Randolph, Harry Scarola, Cate Sieving, James Smeenge, Nicholas Stewart, Harper Throop, Olivia Wagner, Tucker Yavinsky.

Double E Awards were given to students who received “E” in effort and conduct in all core and co-curricular subjects: sixth grade—Gigi Chaney, Catie Ewing, Trey Wagner, Joseph Walsh, Mercer Ward;  seventh grade—Sophia Angle, Nicole Atteridge, Eliza Ashley, Ellie Bischoff, Emma Chopin, Cate Frerichs, Bailey Groth, Isabelle Herlong, Risa Hernandez, Nellie Miller, Sofia Machado, Joseph Modenos, Winston Moore, Logan Ray, Katherine Teubner; eighth grade—Natalie Acosta, Alexandra Beauchamp, Iliana Beauchamp, Angela Frankland, Ariane Holton, Harper Throop, Amelia Walsh, Tucker Yavinsky.

All students who participated in a fall sport—flag football, volleyball, swimming, and cross country—were acknowledged. The following student-athletes received awards: Varsity Flag Football—Brewer Rehm (8th)/Most Valuable Player, Samuel Hernandez (8th)/Most Improved, James Smeenge (8th) and Molly Lanahan (8th)/Coaches’ Choice; Junior Varsity Flag Football—FJ Bahl (6th)/Most Valuable Player, Charlotte Jordan (6th)/Most Improved, Sebastian Peluso (8th)/Coaches’ Choice;  Girls Varsity Volleyball—Loran McGruder (8th)/Most Valuable Player, Juliana LaPapa (8th)/Most Improved; Olivia Debbs (8th)/Coaches’ Choice; Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball—Eleanor Hall (7th)/Most Valuable Player, Eliza Ashley (7th)/Most Improved; Sophia Angle (7th)/Coaches’ Choice; Swimming—Juan-Lucas Gonzalez-Cabanellas (8th) and Pierce Johnson (6th)/Most Valuable Swimmer, George Weston (6th)/ Most Improved, Emma Chopin (7th) and Nicholas Grippi (7th)/ Coaches’ Choice; Cross Country—Iliana Beauchamp (8th) and Trey Wagner (6th)/Most Valuable Runner, Liam Hardyman (4th)/Most Improved, Tessa Brown (4th)/Coaches’ Choice.

Rosarian Academy, founded in 1925, educates students from early childhood through eighth grade and offers an exceptionally strong academic program enriched by athletics, visual and performing arts, and community service opportunities.
