Advisory for Friday, February 5: Rosarian Students Dare 2 Care for Local Homeless, Lead Collection for Mobile Showers and Laundry

WHAT:
With the closing of public restrooms and beaches during the pandemic, the most vulnerable individuals in our community are in greater need than ever before for a place to shower and clean clothes to wear. Rosarian Academy students Dare 2 Care and have led a two-week drive (ending Friday, February 5) to collect items to help the disadvantaged, including adult underwear, socks, t-shirts, OdoBan Lavendar, and Downy Unstoppables. The drive supports the Shower the People and Laundry Project programs which provide mobile showers and laundry service to the homeless in Palm Beach County. Special thanks  to the Hilfiger and Weingartner families who felt called to help and donated truckloads of brand new clothing over the last few days of the collection.

Tim Murphy and Kate Devine, Dare 2 Care cofounders, will bring their shower and laundry trailer to Rosarian Academy’s Flagler Drive campus On Friday, February 5 to pick up all of the donations. Rosarian students will help load the collected items on the trailer to then be distributed to those in need.

Dare 2 Care believes everyone deserves dignity, reverence, and respect. They are united in helping those who are disadvantaged and need a helping hand, love, kindness, and opportunity. Through their work, they believe they can offer hope, a sense of self worth, and optimism.
