Rosarian Academy Presents Shrek The Musical JR: 04.25.15 and 04.26.15

ÔIÕm a BelieverÕ that Rosarian AcademyÕs performance of Shrek The Musical Jr. will send the audience ogre-the-moon. The fily-friendly musical comedy follows the adventures of an ogre ned Shrek who sets off on a quest to save a princess from a dragon. However, it turns out that in order to ultimately succeed, Shrek must battle an even bigger obstacle: learning how to believe in himself and open his heart to others. Filled with adventure, romance and hilarity, you will quickly be a believer that love is not something that only happens in fairytales and that PinoccioÕs nose can grow.

Shrek’s cast of 43 fourth through eighth graders is anchored by eighth-grade students Jake Kaywell (Shrek) and Ella Schrotenboer (Wicked Witch), sixth-graders Sailor Kate Ashley (Donkey) and Skyler White (Pinocchio) and fifth-grader Grace Trainor (Princess Fiona). The musical is produced and directed by Robert Sherman, with musical direction by Gay Dedo and choreography by Jeanne Bennet and Francesca Coniglio.

Shrek The Musical is based on the original 2001 Oscar¨-winning DreWorks Animation film, Shrek, and will be presented Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 7:30 pm and Sunday, April 26 at 2:30 pm, in RosarianÕs 485-seat professional theater.
