Calendar Advisory for September 5 & 6: SCREENAGERS Documentary

WHAT:
Are you watching kids scroll through life with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Rosarian Academy presents SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age, a documentary about the biggest parenting issue of our time. SCREENAGERS addresses teen struggles over social media, video games and internet addiction. The film empowers kids to best navigate the digital world and provides practical resources to help them do it.

Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development. The film also offers solutions on how adults can empower their kids to best navigate the digital world to find balance. SCREENAGERS has been featured on PBS NewsHour, Good Morning America, The Dr. Oz Show, and in The New York Times.

Open to the community, the complimentary viewing of the movie will be in Rosarian Academy’s 385-person Theater on Wednesday, September 5 at 7:00 PM and Thursday, September 6 at 8:45 AM. The filmmaker recommends viewing for ages 10 and older.
