Photo Advisory: 2017 Florida Book Award’s Gold Medal Author to Speak to Rosarian Students

WHAT:
Dorian Cirrone, the 2017 Florida Book Award’s Gold Medal Author in Younger Children’s Literature, is coming to Rosarian Academy. Mrs. Cirrone will spend time with the fifth-grade students discussing her middle-grade novel, The First Last Day, which the students are currently reading. She will then present to students in grades second and third about how she became a writer and her journey to being published. She will also do a reading from one of her published works.

Mrs. Cirrone has also written the young adult novels, Prom Kings and Drama Queens and Dancing in Red Shoes Will Kill You, which was named an ALA Popular Paperback. She has also written two Lindy Blues chapter books: The Missing Silver Dollar and The Big Scoop. Her poems, short stories, and essays for children and adults have been published in literary journals and anthologies.
