Sunsational Advice from Rosarian Academy 4th Grade Student: Wins 3rd Place

ÒHere is some advice: tanning beds are not fun. It could hurt your skin a ton,Ó says Lacey Steele, Rosarian Academy fourth grade student, in her poetry entry for the Richard David Kann Melanoma Foundation 2013 Melanoma Monday Art Contest. LaceyÕs submission won 3rd place and a $25 award.

In an effort to help save lives and bring awareness to the preventable disease of skin cancer, the foundation opened this yearÕs contest to Palm Beach County schools. In the 3rd Ð 5th grades category, students were instructed to write a poem, limerick or rhyme promoting sun safety and how over exposure to the sun can dage the skin.
