Rosarian Academy Students Advance in Spelling and Geography Bees

Rosarian Academy held the school-level competition of the 2015 Scripps Spelling Bee on January 23. Twenty-two fifth through eighth grade students competed in the Bee. After 44 rounds of not misspelling a word, MacCrea (Mac) Murphy (8th grade) and Hope Diffenderfer (6th grade) were declared co-chpions for the school. Mac and Hope will both represent Rosarian at the Regional Spelling Bee on February 24, 2015, at The Benjin School.

Twelve finalists in grades five through eight competed in the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on January 28. Eighth grader, Sir Thakkar won the competition and a chance at $50,000 college scholarship. The school-level Bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 27th annual National Geographic Bee.
